One of the young performers from Tessarose Productions, the company that records the music for GymbaROO-KindyROO programs, has won the New Zealand 2025 Gold Guitar Junior Champion award. This is New Zealand’s equivalent to winning at Tamworth, Australia!

Cleo Fitzgerald is 11 years old from Lyttelton, New Zealand. She began singing from the moment she could talk. She loves musicals, performing, playing her guitar, as well as many sporting activities. 

Cleo began recording GymbaROO-KindyROO songs a few years ago and loves that young children in Australia listen to her songs. GymbaROO-KindyROO parents may recognise her voice in the Term 2 song ‘Rainbow Ring’.

When it comes to recording songs for GymbaROO-KindyROO, Cleo finds the experience very fun and is hoping to do more recordings for Tessarose Productions in the future.

“I love the whole experience and everyone is super fun and relaxed. The people at Tessarose make sure that I enjoy myself while still getting the songs recorded,” she said.

Cleo is following in the footsteps of another GymbaROO-KindyROO singer from Tessarose, Vicki Galloway. Vicki was also a Gold Guitar Winner in New Zealand in 1986. 

Music plays a very important role in the GymbaROO-KindyROO programs and in child development. Tessarose has recorded over 800 songs with most of them being used across the 24 programs, from Baby ROO to the school readiness programs.
